Grenada Cancer Society Receives Mobile Cancer Screening Unit From Republic Bank

July 30, 2019, St. George, Grenada:The Grenada Cancer Society is the proud recipient of a Mobile Cancer Screening Unit, made possible by the generous contribution of Republic Bank, through its Power to Make A Difference programme.

The unveiling of the Mobile Cancer Screening Unit represents “a message of hope that you CAN be a survivor of cancer” says Mrs. Naeisha John-Diarra, Executive of the Grenada Cancer Society, and a cancer survivor herself.

Republic Bank Donates To St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (Hillsborough) Dorm Restoration Efforts

St. George’s; July 15, 2019: Almost fifteen (15) years since the passage of Hurricane Ivan over Grenada and its dependencies, some organizations continue to struggle with their rebuilding efforts.

The St. Patrick’s Catholic Church is the main parish center serving Carriacou and Petit Martinique. In 2004, the dormitory was destroyed by the hurricane and reconstruction commenced in 2006; funded primarily by fundraising activities organized by the communities. To date, they are still a long way from completing this project.

St. George’s; July 08, 2019: Each year, for more than half a century, lovers of “boats and competitive racing” converge on the sister isle to experience this uniquely preserved aspect of Carriacou’s culture, the Carriacou Regatta. Supported by boat builders, sailing enthusiasts, corporate sponsors and visitors just wanting to savour the colourful sails which adorn the hand-crafted workboats parading the pristine blue waters, Carriacou Regatta has made its name as one of the popular festivals, along the Caribbean’s southern island chain.
