National Learn To Swim Week 2016 Launched With $10,000 Backing From Republic Bank

St. George’s, Grenada; Monday, January 25, 2016: Republic Bank is pleased to partner with Grenada Youth Adventures for the second consecutive year to host a national learn-to-swim week from March 29 – April 02, 2016.

As a nation surrounded by water with beautiful, white sand beaches, this programme offers the perfect opportunity for persons to learn basic water survival techniques with some of the most professional volunteers locally, with added assistance from volunteers, internationally.

Last year, with the Bank’s assistance over 500 participants seized the opportunity and received basic swimming techniques. With this early launch, it is our hope that more Grenadians, especially the younger ones, will avail of the free swimming lessons which will be provided. This year, the Bank is pleased to contribute $10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Dollars), a 20% increase over last year’s donation, to assist with the purchase of pool noodles, kick boards, lifeguard equipment and t-shirts.
