Republic Bank Sponsors GCA Under 19 Inter-parish Tournament $12,000.00

St. George’s, Grenada - March 31, 2015: Republic Bank is pleased to partner with the Grenada Cricket Association (GCA) to sponsor the 2015 Under 19 Inter-parish tournament.

The tournament will be held April 04 – 11, 2015, at five (5) venues across Grenada: Tanteen, Progress Park, La Sagesse, Cuthbert Peters Park and Fond Recreation Ground. Each parish, including Carriacou, will be represented in the tournament, which provides a positive alternative for youth development. The Bank’s contribution to this event is EC$12,000.00 (Twelve Thousand Dollars). This will cover the cost of trophies, transportation and refreshment for the teams.

A press conference to launch the event was held Friday, March 27, 2015, at the National Stadium. In addressing the attendees, Republic Bank’s Managing Director, Keith Johnson congratulated the young captains who represented their parish teams and challenged each to aspire to excellence by regular and rigorous practice, by which means only, improvement can be achieved. He further encouraged them to adopt the right attitude for success that embodies the spirit of cricket - the gentleman’s game.

President of the Grenada Cricket Association, Mr. Dwayne Gill, thanked the Bank for partnering with the GCA, highlighting it is the first time the GCA has been able to attract a title sponsor for the tournament, thus enabling all seven parishes, including Carriacou, to be represented.
