St. George’s, Grenada – January 08, 2015. Much needed financial assistance was given to thirteen (13) registered charitable groups around Grenada, in keeping with Republic Bank’s annual pledge to support the work of these groups. At a brief ceremony held at Republic House, the representatives of the organizations were presented with financial “gifts” of varying amounts.
A total of $33,000.00 was presented to the organizations spread throughout the island, as part of the Bank’s ongoing community outreach initiative. The recipients included: The Dorothy Hopkin Centre for the Disabled, the Grenada Foundation for Needy Students, Cadrona Home for the Aged, Rotary Club Grenada East Vosh Eye Care Programme, the GRENCODA Books & Uniform Programme, the Grenada National Council for the Disabled, the Pink Ribbon Society and the Hillsview Home for Senior Citizens.
Other groups which assist persons with chronic diseases such as kidney, diabetes, heart and hypertension, viz. the Grenada Heart Foundation, Grenada Cancer Society; Grenada National Patient Kidney Foundation, Grenada Diabetes Foundation as well as the CHORES Support Group in Grenada, also benefited.
Mr. Keith Johnson, Managing Director of Republic Bank, in addressing the representatives of the different groups, praised their efforts in providing care for those persons who are served by these organizations. He reiterated the Bank’s commitment to continue this annual gesture, which started more than a decade ago. Mrs. Althea Roberts, Manager – Retail Services, Republic House Cluster and Mrs. Hermilyn Charles, Manager – Business Support Services, assisted with the presentations.
Each representative conveyed sincere appreciation on behalf of his/her group and noted the timeliness of the Bank’s gesture at the beginning of the New Year. The gift, they agreed, would help them continue their humanitarian efforts to enrich the lives of persons and families coping with different challenges.
