St. George's, Grenada: March 06, 2014: Republic Bank is pleased to assist with the preservation of Grenada's National archives which date back to the sixteenth century. The Bank has responded to the Office of the Governor General, who is the custodian of the archives, by outfitting a secure room with shelves and storage boxes, until a suitable room is constructed, when Government House is rebuilt.
The archives, which were severely damaged during Hurricane Ivan in 2004, are now housed in the Prime Minister's residence, located at Mt. Wheldale, St. George. The Bank's contribution to this worthwhile venture is $18,400.00.
