St. George’s: - February 12, 2015 - Thirteen students are benefitting from the Republic Bank UWI Open Campus Bursary Programme, for this semester. The Bank continues to keep its promise to assist Grenadian nationals with opportunities to advance and develop educationally through this programme, in collaboration with the University of the West Indies. The programme allows persons to remain at home while pursuing a bachelor’s degree online.
Bursaries totaling $17,820.00 was paid to support students for Semester II, of the 2014/2015 academic year. Managing Director, Mr. Keith Johnson, on making the presentation to the awardees, reaffirmed the Bank’s support and encouraged the students to continue to strive for excellence. Disbursements for the 2014/2105 academic year now stand at $39,690.00.
The Republic Bank Bursary programme is in its seventh year and complements the Bank’s UWI Scholarship, which is made available each year, to assist one (1) qualified Grenadian pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree full time at any of the UWI campuses in the region. Such is the Bank’s commitment to supporting the development of young people, through education.
