St. George’s, Grenada; April 17, 2018: Republic Bank congratulates St. David’s parish, undisputed champions of the 2018 RightStart / GCA U19 Tournaments. The team first defeated St. Mark in the Inter-parish knockout competition on April 09th then went on to play Carriacou, for the RightStart Sister Isle Challenge Shield on Sunday, April 15th at the Lauriston Mini Stadium.
Following are the results:
1st Inning: St. David U19 143 runs all out (41 overs)
Batting for St. David: - Sharkim Edwards 63 runs (top scorer), Teddy Bishop 38 runs, Seandell Regis 17 runs
Bowling for Carriacou U19: Jaden Teka took 3 wickets for 26 runs, Karidon Samuel 3 wickets for 35 runs
2nd Inning: Carriacou U19 85 runs all out (20.3 overs)
Batting for Carriacou: Josh Edmond 25 runs
Bowling for St. David U19: Jeron Noel 6 wickets for 27 runs
Result: St. David U19 won by 88 runs

Best Batsman: Johann Jeremiah (St. Andrew)

The RightStart U19 Inter-parish tournament provides a basis for selecting players to represent Grenada and the West Indies teams at regional and international Under 19 competitions. We remain committed to the development of our youth, through Sports and we are indeed proud of the accomplishments of our youth cricketers, since the tournament started four years ago. We extend best wishes to the players and the Grenada Cricket Association (GCA) in their continued efforts to develop the sport.
