Republic Bank teams Supports 47th Spice Island Billfish Tournament

St. George’s, Grenada. November 27, 2015: 2016 will be no different from the past two years as, for the third consecutive year, Republic Bank partners with the Local Organising Committee to host the 47th annual Budget Marine Spice Island Billfish Tournament, to be held Tuesday, January 19 – Saturday, January 23, 2016. The venue is the Grenada Yacht Club.

Mr. Clifford Bailey, General Manager – Operations, presented the sponsorship cheque, valued at $20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Dollars), to the Chairman of the Spice Island Billfish Tournament, Mr. Richard Mc Intyre.

Republic Bank is pleased to support this sport tourism activity which draws at least fifty (50) fishing boats to our shores each year, bringing valuable and much needed economic benefits. This must-attend event attracts anglers from Venezuela in the South to the UK and Canada in the North. It is highly anticipated that 2016 would be even bigger and better as the tournament evolves. We encourage all fishing enthusiasts as well as the general public be a part of this spectacular event in the coming weeks.
