Republic Bank Launches Brand Ambassador

St. George’s Grenada; March 01, 2021: Republic Bank (Grenada) Limited has announced the 2019 1AAF World Champion in the Javelin throw, 24-four year old, Anderson Jamal Peters as its Brand Ambassador.

Anderson, who was born in the parish of St. David, has risen to the pinnacle of his athletics career at an early age, achieving several regional and international accolades in his field, the Javelin throw. By age 22, he had acquired numerous titles and held an impressive number of records. Some of his major accomplishments include: Under 17 CARIFTA Champion and record holder, Five-time CARIFTA Champion and current record holder, World Junior Bronze Medalist, Commonwealth Bronze Medalist, Two-time SEC champion and record holder, two-time NCAA champion and record holder, Pan American Games champion and record holder. His crowning moment came in 2019 when he made the 86.89meter throw to win the IAAF 17th Biennial World Championship held in Doha, Qatar.

Anderson is the only athlete from the Americas to achieve this win and remains one of only two Grenadians to ever win Gold in an IAAF World Championship.

The Bank held a brief ceremony to launch the two-year partnership earlier today at its Head Office at Grand Anse. Among the attendees were officials from the Grenada Olympic Committee, Anderson’s mom, Ms. Antonette Peters, his Coach, Paul Phillip, and his coach from SDCSS, Ms. Denise Williams. Anderson is currently enrolled at the Mississippi State University and joined the ceremony via Zoom. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

In a symbolic gesture to mark the occasion, Johnson presented Anderson’s representative, Coach Paul Phillip with a Republic Bank branded javelin.
