St. George's, Grenada - January 19, 2012. Caryl Hayes is the proud recipient of Republic Bank's 2011 Scholarship award. The Bank's Managing Director, Mr. Keith A. Johnson, on January 19, 2012 presented Ms. Hayes with a cheque for EC$20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Dollars.)
Ms. Hayes is pursuing a three-year Bachelor of Science programme in Banking and Finance at the University of the West Indies - Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. The funds will be used to cover the cost of tuition and other personal expenses for academic year 2011/2012.
On making the presentation, Mr. Johnson commended the recipient on her quest for higher learning and wished her success in her pursuit of educational advancement. He also reiterated the Bank's commitment to the development of the nation's youth through education and sports.
The Republic Bank scholarship is available to Grenadian Nationals pursuing studies at the Bachelors level with any of the main campuses of the University of The West Indies. The scholarship is based on academic record and financial need.
