St. George’s, Grenada - May 30, 2016: Students enrolled within the Department of Agriculture and Food Science at the T.A. Marryshow Community College - Mirabeau Campus, can now boast a newly refurbished and outfitted computer laboratory, thanks in part, to Republic Bank.
A brief ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday, May 17, 2016 to officially commission the lab. The project, completed under the Bank’s Power to Make a Difference Programme, is a joint initiative with the College, Republic Bank and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC). Republic Bank contributed $10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Dollars) to assist with the refurbishment of the room, to facilitate the introduction of ICT equipment at the Campus.
On cutting the ribbon, Mr. Kurt Mc Farlane, Management Associate at Republic Bank, expressed the Bank’s gratitude for yet another opportunity to assist the College in its quest to improve literacy and the overall quality of learning at the Mirabeau Campus, noting the Bank’s ongoing affiliation with T.A.M.C.C; having contributed $101,000.00 in 2014 to assist with the reconstruction of the Mechanical Engineering Wing, which was destroyed in the passage Hurricane Ivan.
Republic Bank remains committed to empowering our youth through literacy. It is expected that the project will increase efficiency and effectiveness in the teaching and learning process at the campus.
