Republic Bank Continues to Support Carriacou Regatta Festival

St. George’s - July 28, 2014: Republic Bank supports the 48th annual Carriacou Regatta Festival, which is unique to the sister isle. The festival opens this Friday, August 01st and runs until Monday, August 04, 2014.

The Bank’s sponsorship cheque, worth $15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Dollars), was presented to the Regatta Festival Committee’s Assistant Secretary, Ms. Andris Douglas, by Mrs. Althea Roberts, Manager, Retail Services, Republic House Cluster, on Friday, July 25, 2014. On making the presentation, Mrs. Roberts remarked:

“In keeping with the ideal that together we achieve more, Republic Bank remains committed to the preservation & development of culture in Carriacou, and pledges its continued support to the Carriacou Regatta Committee and its efforts to keep the sailing tradition alive.”

The Festival continues to attract scores of spectators and sailing enthusiasts, generating much- needed economic benefits to the Sister Isle. The Bank commends the Regatta Committee, the boating fraternity, patrons, and who continue to work tirelessly to preserve and showcase this rich tradition.

Republic Bank boasts thirty one (31) years of sponsorship of the event, which highlights our islands’ cultural heritage and truly represents our indigenous way of life. By contributing meaningfully to our national festivals, the Bank affirms its commitment to its corporate social responsibility.
