Republic Bank to Stage National Learn to Swim Week 2022

St. George’s Grenada; April 13, 2022: The Republic Bank National Learn to Swim Week will be held from April 19-22, 2022. The occasion offers both children and adults the opportunity to learn basic swimming lessons at no charge, but particularly targets students on Easter break.

National Learn to Swim is in its seventh year, made possible under the Bank’s Power to Make A Difference programme, which is aimed at empowering the citizens its serves, through worthwhile community initiatives.

Republic Bank’s financial backing enables the organizers, Grenada Youth Adventurers (GYA), to secure the necessary safety equipment and volunteer support to ensure a safe and successful week.

As many as 15 locations have been air-marked for lessons, with at least one in each parish (Carriacou and Petit Martinique included), to accommodate interested persons. Lessons will be held hourly, at the following venues, from 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m., daily:-

  • Cabier Beach, Crochu
  • Good Hope Swimming Pool
  • Grand Anse (Umbrellas)
  • Grand Anse ( Catholic Church)
  • Gouyave ( Lance/Fish market)
  • Telescope Beach
  • Morang Beach, Petite Martinique
  • Birchgrove (Mello’s Complex)
  • Sauteurs Break Water
  • Grenada Marine, Corinth, St. David
  • Grand Anse (Camerhogne Park)
  • Grand Mal (“Go Cool” steps)
  • Waltham Beach, St. Mark
  • Paradise Beach, Carriacou
